Wisdom for Wednesdays

Your adornment should not be an external one: braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or dressing in fine clothes, but rather the hidden character of the heart, expressed in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and calm disposition, which is precious in the sight of God.

-1 Peter 3:3-4

  1. Such a good verse! I used to think that it meant no jewelry, nice hair, etc. The KJV version says "nor putting on of apparel", so you have to put on clothes, but they should't be what characterizes you and neither should it be your jewelry or hair, it should be your beautiful spirit.
